WARS & WARRIORS OF MEXICO The wars were the most important entertainment of the people of ancient MEXICO . Warriors were worshiped for their victory . Wars were not fought for annexation as such but only for bravery . The biggest God , therefore , was the God of War . As per the religious scriptures of the MEXICAN society , the person , whoever had captivated as many as war prisoners , were treated as the most important warrior of the society . Martyrs of the war were believed to have gone directly to the SUN GOD . And war prisoners were sacrificed to the SUN GOD . The war warriors used to wear tight under garments for protection against arrows beside beautiful dresses . The warriors dresses were so beautiful that even the SPANISH conquerors praised their war under garments and ordered the same for their own soldiers . The King and his Commanders used to wear under garments made up of gold and silver. They used to wear caps made up of wood of various designs in the forms of heads of various animals/birds decorated with precious stones with different colours soft feathers of birds on the head of the caps as such . The warriors used to wear armlets , earrings and necklace , all made up of gold . Every Brigade of army had 8000 soldiers . And under every Commander , at least , 3000 to 4000 soldiers were deployed . And every department had different symbols made up of different colours of feathers on which names of that department were written in the MEXICAN language . Arms in their hands , warriors used to step forward in the battle fields with people playing on various musical instruments . We can see similar examples during the period of MAHABHARATAS in INDIA when the war was declared to have started with whistling of conchs . As I have written above that the war warriors more believed in captivating the loosers of war than to killing them . The war prisoners were used for sacrifices to the SUN GOD who , as per their belief , got power from the bood of the hearts of those war prisoners . The rules of war were very strict . No war prisoner could ever be freed for money or for any lucrative things as such . Similarly , no body could wrongly claim to have captivated any war prisoner if he was captured by other . For that deception , there existed a capital punishment as such . And it is said that a King of MEXICO had once killed all his sons because they wrongly claimed to have captivated a war prisoners while fact was that he was captivated by the different soldiers as such . So , such was the strict law for the wars and war prisoners in the ancient MEXICAN society .
MARKETS OF MEXICO The markets of MEXICO were generally located in a compound around which there existed big shops of different goods and articles . Every shop used to keep one type of goods and symbols of that goods were hung on the doors of the shop so that buyers could detect the shop of their choice easily . Shops were full of gold pots of big size , of jewelry of gold and of toys made up of gold and other metals as such . They were well trained in making alloys of different metals . Toys of different alloys were made in such a way that they appeared to be of a natural in colors . Suppose a pigeon toy was made of alloys , so different metals were mixed in such a way that the toy , so prepared , looked naturally like a pigeon without coloring it . Such a technique of mixing of metals in alloys was completely absent in other ancient Civilizations of the world . Similarly, big pots/utensils made up of gold or silver engraved with attractive pictures , sometimes , were so big in size that it was difficult for even a healthy man to take it far in his arms . Cups and plates made up of wood were well beautifully decorated . They were light in weight . Clay pots of different colors and sizes were also available in the market . Different shops had : clothes of different colors , cotton bundles , well tailored dresses of different shapes and sizes , door curtains , chairs , tables , benches , firewood , crawl hookahs made up of canes , tobacco , arms like— swords made up of copper , bows and arrows , axes made up of tin and copper etc. Balances were not used for selling any thing . Every things were sold either by measuring it or by counting it . PILKI , a type of wine prepared from the leaves of a particular tree , was sold everywhere in the market place . But peace and tranquility was , anyhow , maintained in the market places despite the fact that about forty thousand people used to have come and gone in the market for purchasing and selling things daily . Ladies in medley colored dresses about equal in numbers of males used to come in the market but no body dared to misbehave with them as such .This was a sign of a civilized society the MAXICAN people had in the ancient times . In case of breach of law and order or peace in the market place Magistrate used to come immediately . And punishment was quite hard . So people dared not to violate rules and regulations at all . Summarily , ancient MAXICAN people were peace loving , civilized and well cultured .
POSTAL SERVICES IN ANCIENT MEXICO The postal services in ancient MEXICO was one the especial features of the society . As we all know that the country had no horses or other means of communication in the ancient period . Despite this fact that postal materials were communicated upto four hundred miles in a single day . For that , on every six miles there happened to be a post of persons deputed to carry postal materials and even heavy parcels to other such post . They were ready all the time for running with all the materials up to the next post where some other persons were ready to receive such postal materials for upto the next post . And in such a way such postal materials/heavy parcels were sent upto four hundred miles in a single day . Unlike the INDIAN people , the MAXICAN people didn’t have languages of their own . They used to write in different colored pictures as such . That’s why every MAXICAN people were given training in running from their childhood as such .
